JRP – very small world indeed. I grew up across the street from your
aunt/uncle. So I knew Steven, Cathy and the twins David and Donald who were a
couple years older than me. I see them every once in a while when I visit my
father’s house. Always loved playing basketball in their side yard and an
occasional swim in their pool.

I am - that's my Uncle (Father's older brother, one of twins) and Aunt. Phyllis
passed away just recently, requiescat in pace. A very sweet woman, endured a
difficult decline over the last few years.
It turns out there are two Pascucci families in the area, the other one is what
I am usually asked about and am entirely unfamiliar with. I found out there is
even another Jason - I was vaguely aware of it from self-googling, but found
out in a particularly poignant way when I handed over my credit card to a
cashier at the Natick Mall and was literally yelled at for several minutes for,
it was revealed eventually, screwing and then dumping her best friend.
I'm...I'm pretty sure it wasn't me, anyway. Like 90% certain. I mean, the young
lady's name didn't sound familiar, and I'm usually pretty good about those
sorts of details.

Thank you, that someone was me. It's nice to overhear someone say something
good about you - a thing that rarely ever happens. :-)
The footnote there (1) was me mentioning that the underlying idea wasn't
at all original, but I don't recall the source.
That text was, indeed, my take, I just whipped that out without an enormous
amount of craft, but I appreciate that you felt it worthy to forward.
(To following up on the original, full post of which this is an excerpt,
Vantablack said coating a rifle wasn't a "suitable" project, but I'm going to
go with nano-systems in Waltham's "singularity black", so I can have the
blackest of all possible black rifles)

And, no: I'm not quite a philosopher or art critic, but just a well-studied
Catholic...which, in these dark days, makes me precisely both a philosopher and
art critic. :-)
Thanks for the kind thoughts.
