Residents are aware of what is going on, they just don't care and continue to
dump their trash in the open. If you know who left the bag outside the
dumpster/compactor please let us know.
As for the private company, our community opted some time ago to use a private
service for economic reasons I believe. However more consistent collection has
been discussed recently and may be forthcoming shortly. My understanding is
that it will involve fees going up however.
Again residents need to be thoughtful and stop inappropriate dumping. That
would be a great start but for some reason there are just some of us who refuse
to do it. I am at a loss for reasons why this is the case.

I wasn't complaining just saying the possums might be eating the rats.

I've been gone since the Sunday morning, but have read all the emails from
another state. I just left the neighborhood after being home for about 15
minutes. Sitting by the compactor is a bag of trash. As I waited for the
gate to open, a rat exited the bag of trash. It is apparently not clear to
all residents of what is currently going on in our community. Why is that so?
I am a renter, but I am curious why a private company is being used for
trash?

Subject: [highland-discuss] RATS!
There is a dead half eaten rat in the back of the pool deck! Behind the
trash can. And many many live rats around the trash dumpster. We need to put
the plug back in the dumpster because the rats are using it as a door into
the dumpster. buffet time!
