[haiku] mkdir /usr ?

I'm porting a linux app and I have some strange behaviour. I need to create
some directories under /usr. I can create /usr and subfolders under it. But I
cannot create files in these folders. Permissions are ok. I can't copy files
in, I can't use touch, I can't write with vi. When I use cp the error is
'cannot create regular file ... invalid argument'.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Andrew
