providing a simple set of routines (perhaps based on attributes or flattened
BMessages) for storing and retrieving apps configuration wouldn't be that
hard. IMHO that's "the Be way" to do it... and it wouldn't be difficult at
all I guess. normally there's just a bunch of modules dealing with
preference managing in every app, changing them wouldn't be that hard.
anyway, we should just _provide_ a standard, not _impose_ it.
