Well, yes, you do: with Qemu you can specify "-serial stdio" as an 
additional parameter, and the syslog will be dumped to the Terminal.

Can you also do a "teams" and "threads" in KDL?
Also, you could put your image online, so that I can try to reproduce 
the problem over here (my Qemu image works fine).
