It's necessary work and I see no reason to put pressure on him to spend his time any other way. I look forward to him blogging about his work, when it comes natural, wether he decides to write just a few lines, or an essay. At the same time I do understand Patrik's point of view, and the necessity for the project at large to over time also cater to (the perception of) a wider range of people; people who don't understand the principles of software integrity or the amount of work that goes into it, who largely understand software by its features and its user interface. Development often happens in bursts, and the user-facing parts of Haiku are no exception. Perhaps the project could try to dispense these bursts of user-pleasing development at a set interval, so as to keep interest up and to keep the stream of screenshots flowing? :-) The good idea here, if there is any, is not to limit creativity to a set schedule, but to use it as an aid to thinking /more often/ about how to please users, how to improve the platform and the user experience. /Jonas
