Not sure what this is, but does it have to end up in our commit
messages?
I find that rather annoying.
Liberapay is a platform where people can accept donations for their
work. Unlike other similar platforms, it is self-funded (you can
donate to the people maintaining the platform) rather than having fees
on donations made through the platform.
While it sounds like a nice way of funding open source developers (and
I created an account there as well), I agree that advertising this in
commit messages feels a bit out of place. I would rather have a
forum/ML thread and/or website page about it.
It seems like that format is trying to copy the "Signed off by:" stuff
in git.
It isn't *horrible* since it does create a loop of:
"if you like this change, donate here for more"
However, it is a little odd seeing it over and over since it does get
pretty spammy.
We *might* be able to do something like this via a server-side hook
and place it in the bottom of the notification emails based on username.
"Commit by XXX:
http://haiku-os.org/contributors/XXX";
Or..
1) commit from YYY ?
2) does the file /blah/YYY exist containing a personal signature?
3) If yes, display it at the bottom of the commit email.
