Not sure what this is, but does it have to end up in our commit messages?
I find that rather annoying.
It's an information relative to the author, as a signature. I could
send the same message on the haiku-development mailing list, and yet
it would still be annoying for you given that you aren't part of the
target audience.

It should be irrelevant information at this point; unlike if the NSA sponsored it, that is :-)
I also don't think that it's very visible for the intended audience. And since the commit hasn't really been sponsored by liberapay yet, it's more like advertising, even if for a good cause.

What do you have in mind to communicate with possible donators?

I would prefer to put something on the website instead. That should reach more people, anyway. We could list individuals who accept donations directly in addition to the Inc.
Would that be okay with you?

By the way, when Haiku Inc. funds work through commits, I would find
interesting to communicate the information in such commits. It's just
good PR.
An example for FreeBSD:
https://svnweb.freebsd.org/base?view=revision&revision=328202

Well, I am not particularly fond of it. Sure, it would be nice to know how many commits or changed lines resulted from payments from Haiku Inc. (or other sources) for statistics and PR. But I'd prefer other means of tracking this.

Bye,
   Axel.
