As I said, I made a quick sketch summing up all ideas. Even though this design is almost the same as the one Waldemar suggested, this is still simply 'my view' of the PackageInstaller - so some things might not be to your liking. http://furio.vexillium.org/~sil2100/ui_proposition_2.svg
Looks good. Thanks!
I thought about surrounding the Installation type part by a BBox, as it is shown on the picture. This makes the application look more tidy and groups all installation type specific features together.
Did you also try to move the "Installation type" drop-down into the title section of the BBox? Like here: http://haiku-os.org/index.php?q=gallery&g2_itemId=68 http://haiku-os.org/index.php?q=gallery&g2_itemId=71 Just a thought. In this case it might not be necessary because it's the only widget in the box, but it would be good to know what looks better.
I've also thought that the window tab should omit the ":" sign. "Install CoolApp" looks more user friendly than "Install: CoolApp" IMO. These are just minor differences, so I won't object if the team decides about their removal.
Yes, looks better. Bye, Waldemar Kornewald
