Ever since I installed Haiku on my machine with the auich soundset, I was
having problems with audio not working. (MediaPlayer would play, but no
sound would come out, then later on it would suddenly work.)
I noticed, running 'tail -F var/log/syslog', that whenever I had silence I
saw "Buffer late" messages.
Digging into the source, I noticed that there is an 'auich.settings' file
in the driver directory, that says it should be installed in
/boot/home/config/settings.
I did so, and uncommented the buffer settings within it, and ever since
the MediaPlayer has played music perfectly.
It seems either this file (with buffer settings enabled) should be
installed, or there should be explicit instructions somewhere that this
will probably be necessary.
