 I'd be inclined not to worry about the driver too much.  I don't think the
 root problem is there [see my next post], and actually a large buffer size
 is not really a fix because it inherently also means a long latency, which
 makes the whole thing useless for anything real time.  [We do ''not'' want
 to be worse than Windows! (:-)]
