I was JUST going to email that they look like baby possums.
The shape of their snout and jaw says possum - plus that tell tale tail (
which is very rat like it must be said......)
But what the heck is preying on them?!?? Yet not consuming them.
Still may be worth the health dept taking a look in case they also were
poisoned by something.
