There is a product on the market that is a cardboard box containing cotton
balls coated with permethrin, an insecticide. Mice move the cotton balls
to their nests. The adult and juvenile mice get coated with the
permethrin, and the deer tick that feed on them are killed by the
permethrin. However, the predators that eat the mice consume the
permethrin, and are poisoned by that product. So I have given up on that
product. The law of unintended consequences.
Possum would be better for reducing the tick population, but I guess that
would not work given what we see here.
