Thanks for that little tip about shift+tabbing to get the right account.
Works like a charm.
But as for replying to messages, I find the behavior is unpredictable, but
the details are too long to type here.
In short, I often end up with a pile of unsendable mail in my outbox, and I
have to go through and select a working account in order to get OE to
complete the transaction.
I haven't quite figured out as yet why this is, but it is not an
earthshattering problem so I am leaving it on the back burner...

when you start a new message, shift tab and choose the account from
which you want to send from the list in the from dropdown box.
Messages you reply to should automatically go where you want them to go.
