Hi Beth,

When reading a contracted-braille book or file, i.e., one that was
formatted for what used to be called Grade II Braille: using a braille
display, one switches the display from Grade 2 into Grade 1 Braille.
Otherwise, the braille would appear in Grade 2 and Computer braille
combined. The braille Display in Grade 2 mode is fine for ordinary
documents that were not translated and copied into braille. I hope this
makes sense. My descriptions may not be cechnically correct, but they
are there about. (We are talking English-language braille display
users, btw.)

Getting away from the question for the library and to one I would be
interested in researching for personal use later: Hi, all. John, you
stated that, since you now have a Braille display, you do not use a back
translation program, right? Okay, does the book appear in Grade 2 or in
computer Braille on the display? Thanks. Beth
