I’ll try to explain what’s going on with me the best I can. This is new to
me because I’ve never had a heart attack before. I’ve been having mild
chest pains for the last month. 12 days ago I felt like I was getting a
summer cold heavy congestion, fever, headache overall weakness. I got
tested for COVID-19 it was negative. My doctor was on vacation so I saw his
nurse via teleconference. She prescribed me cold medicine,Zpac, Sudafed,
Protozoan and nasal spray. I took all that with no improvement. On Monday I
saw my doctor via a teleconference and he doubled down on the protozoan and
ordered an inhaler. On Tuesday I woke at 5:30 planning to go to work and
work through it. I felt chest pains and pain going down my left arm and I
started to sweat. I woke Lauren and had her drive me to the ER at Lake
Norman Regional Hospital in Mooresville. They took me in ran some test and
said I had a heart attack. They took me to surgery to install stents and
ran some more test. They decided stents would probably not do the job and
if not they were not equipped to do bypass. They told me I probably would
need 3 or 4 bypasses. They put me in an ambulance and sent me to a larger
better equipped hospital. I’m in the ICU unit at Atrium Hospital in
Concord, NC right outside Charlotte. A very good hospital. They have been
treating me with Heprin a blood thinner, they have a nitro patch on my
chest, I’m hooked up to a heart monitor, they’ve been giving me all kinds
of test, sticking me with needles every few hours, X-Ray’s and CT scans and
nurse’s constantly monitoring me. They first explained to me open heart
surgery, split your chest open, take a vein out of your lower leg to use as
a bypass vein at your heart. 1 week in hospital after surgery 6 to 8 weeks
recovery at home. Not good. They said all the fluids in my lungs were
brought on by the heart attack. Late yesterday evening they came in and
told me they think they can fix the problem with stents. This morning they
confirmed they are going to install stents this afternoon at 3:00/4:00.
Much better.
Thanks to everyone for the support. I think I’m going to be okay.

Tommy called just now & is to have a 3 or 4 artery bypass later today. His
father had a similar procedure in the 1980s.
He is at Atrium hospital in Concorde. He sounded weak but pretty good.
I’m sure his sister will update us ASAP.

talked with his sister who is on the way there now, but no further update
of his status at this point. He is to have surgery tomorrow am for a
possible coronary artery bypass but not sure of procedure yet. His sister
is to let me know ASAP.

Yes no way to stop drinking bourbon BUT….red meat and bacon, you can get
rid of and survive, I guarantee it.
Have you tried a Beyond or Impossible burger? I invite you to try one of
those. Sold in the frozen food section. Cook it just like you would when
you make your usual ground animal muscle tissue burgers. maybe 15min. to a
side and dress it like you would once done…..very filling and delicious.
Most people’s meat cravings are for nutrient/protein dense foods. Non-meat
Tech kitchens have come a long way in the past 40 years.
