Hi list
Here in UK if I search for bars (what we here refer to as "Pubs") it always says no poi's found this is because all the bars have been lumped together under the category Restaurant, so I agree it's not always wise to be too specific when searching.

Hi John,
Well one idea is to not use the sub category and use all
first. Then
when you find one of these pois you were looking for do
a detailed
POI information (Space P / Read P) and it will tell you
what main
category it is in and what sub category it is in. This
hopefully
will help you moving forward. If all you hear is the
main category
then that POI wasn't classified with a sub category by
TeleAtlas and Info USA.

Charles.

Hi,
Both my inexperience and ineptness are preventing me
from finding
categories for super markets.
I'm trying to find the well know places as well as
Japanese and
chinese markets.
I can't find a category which addresses super markets in
the
advanced Poi search.

I also get a lot of no Pois nearby when I look for a
specific item
such as a park or restaurant.
I live in anaheim Southern California.
Today I was looking for Pearson Park which is about
three and a half
miles from me.
I usually put my nearest parameter at 0 and then
furtherest about
10 miles and pick my category and a sub category.
If I am asked to put in a specific string and I know
what I am
looking for I add it in.
But I almost always get a no Pois near by.
What am I doing wrong?
John
