HI Howard,

The newer bluetooth gps receivers do not need to be exposed to the sky.

I keep mine in my pocket or zipper pocket of my apex.

The trekker breeze has an internal gps reciever and it is so good I don't have to have my trekker breeze outside my winter coat, just the little wired speaker clipped to my collar is all works great!

by keeping your gps receiver inside your coat, pocket you don't lose them.

Freedom keychain 2000 is very small and very good, I prefer it over the larger one that comes with the SenderoGroups software for the apex.

Regards,

I secure my receiver to the belt clip on the apex with the clip and use the Velcro for a second connection. If that isn't good enough, I used to have a receiver that attached to my house keys.
Maybe it would work from a pants front pocket?
