Hi Andy, The file works well. I appreciate your quick response. Now I just need to create an arrangement for classical guitar and single voice. Please feel free to ask if you need others. -Andy www.papermusic.org Music Transcription and Consultation Services ----- Original Message ----- From: John P Thomas <mailto:johnt@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: goodfeel@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, October 07, 2009 8:05 PM Subject: [goodfeel] Re: Writing hymns in lime. Hi Angela and Andy, I have been using Lime for about six weeks to write down printed Christian worship music for classical guitar and voice. It is a great experience to be able to begin writing down the songs that I have written. Learning to use Lime was more challenging than I would have expected, but now that I am over the hump of the learning curve, I am starting to enjoy the creative process. Andy - I hadn't thought about the possibility that there would be people who might have lime files for traditional hymns. My wife has been wanting me to learn a particular hymn for some time, but I haven't been able to work it out from just hearing the hymn. I will send you a hymn request to your personal e-mail address. Angela, Good information. I still need to know if you're needing to produce Lime files for the sighted, or braille files for the blind. This will help instruct the process needed to produce these files. Thanks. -Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela <mailto:purlla_music@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: goodfeel@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, October 06, 2009 4:09 PM Subject: [goodfeel] Re: Writing hymns in lime. Hi, Andy. Sorry, I should have explained better. I compose my own hymns, music and words, which are sometimes used in our services. Sorry for the confusion! Angela. Angela, I've transcribed many hymns. I hate to see you duplicate work that's already done. If there are specific titles you are looking for, please let me know what you need. I'll be glad to send you braille files, Lime files, and even MIDI files. Please, feel free to send me a hymn list to: info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Please include key signatures for each hymn, so I can ensure they match the hymnal you're using. Better yet, tell me which hymnal you're using so I can also check the lyrics to the hymns, which are often different across denominational lines. Yours, sincerely, Andy English P.S. I've hymns mostly from the 1989 United Methodist Hymnal and the GIA Worship Hymnal (Roman Catholic), 1998. www.papermusic.org Music Transcription and Consultation Services ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela <mailto:purlla_music@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: goodfeel@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, October 06, 2009 2:04 PM Subject: [goodfeel] Re: Writing hymns in lime. Hi. I'm intending to print copies of the hymns I write to be sung in church, so Braille copies are ergent at the moment. I have written each of the S A T B on different staffs, and each of the parts, apart from the melody in the S, move at varying rhythms. I write a lot of hymns, and until now, haven't been able to provide the choir with "proper" notation, so if you can help, I'd be very greatful! Angela. Angela, Are you trying to process the hymn through goodfeel, or print it out in lime for sighted musicians? Thank you for mentioning this. It comes up often and I need to put together a tutorial. I'll work on this today, and e-mail the list. -Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Angela <mailto:purlla_music@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: goodfeel@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, October 06, 2009 6:40 AM Subject: [goodfeel] Writing hymns in lime.
