According to the following Finale web page, Finale 2003 upwards includes XML Import/Export. With Finale 2000 - 2002, it was a separate module. http://www.finalemusic.com/finale/features/shareandconnect/b ackwards.aspx The page begins: "Import and Export MusicXML Files Finale can import and export MusicXML files—right from the File menu and the launch window. Unlike MIDI files, MusicXML allows you to transfer the sounds and graphical elements in your file to other applications." Do you know why? Does Finale require a special plugin for it? Douk----- Original Message ----- From: "William R. McCann" <BillList1@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Finale 2005 and later allows you to export MusicXML right
from Finale's
File menu. For example, flute.mus becomes flute.xml. Then you close Finale and run Lime. Under Lime's File menu, choose Import and then MusicXML.
Generally, you
can accept all default values in the dialog that next appears.
Sometimes, you
must specify number of systems per page. Once you close
that dialog, the
music will appear in Lime's main window and you can
transcribe it with
