Your answer to the following two questions might clear things up a bit:

Which of the two animations displays
A) ..your "radial condition"?
B) ..no rotation - only translational movement?

I will refer to those two animations as
Ani.3 (=EarthOrb3_90.gif)  and
Ani.4 (=EarthOrb3_90_trop.gif).
