That's exactly why I contemplated buying an auto unit with voice prompting.
The practical side of me saves to save my $$ and if I must spend some to go for
a Streetpilot I3 that will say turn left (or right) in so many feet. The geeky
side of me would prefer to have one that says "Turn left on XXXX street in YYYY
feet" that speaks the street names too, but the side of me that sees the cash
flow of the house and that I have been out of work for a month says there is no
way I'm spending that kind of $$ right now.
Sorry to say I won't be making it to anymore SLAGA lunches anytime soon
unless they are in Chesterfield, looks like I'm starting a new job tomorrow.
