Welcome.
As a bookcrossing/Geocacher, I say go for it with the books. The only thing
is, now adays there are less and less ammo cans, so it is sometimes hard to
find a cache that is big enough for a book. Don't put one in if it will over
crowd the box, but otherwise, yeah, leave books. And the BookCrossing cache
is set up just for leaving books.
