The commands above look alien to me as a Slacker. Rather than build an
.rpm or .deb, look for a script or command to build .tgz (Slackware
package). If there is no .tgz build, then grab source code. Then
download and install checkinstall if it isn't already on the hard drive.
They would be alien to you... They come with the Winmodem package. The
Winmodem package has 'everything you need' to setup a Winmodem on your
box.. Except better instructions! :)
