I so appreciate what you are saying but almost everyone is taking a
percentage and the orgs are calling it salary.I have been at my girls home
for 8 years and have refused a percentage but becaue of that they have not
given me a raise either even though I have returned double digit increases
every year ( 14% in 2020 with Covid).
My boss says all fundraisers are taking a percentage and they are trying
to wear me down . I tell them its not true but I have a strong sense that
they aren't wrong.
I appreciate the idealism but I believe many are taking a percentage and
using different wording ( semantics) to make it palatable.
My boss is trying to convince me to become an esek patur ( a consultant?
) and I don't think I want that. Any advice would be appreciated.

if you feel you are entitled to a bonus for a job well done, then
stipulate a fair amount - 50% of one month's salary (or whatever). but
never ever a percentage!
