CRON I was not able to get scheduled tasks to work well on 70 series with cron. I always used the Windows scheduler and that seemed to work well. I also remember that on one of the Windows (might have been XP), I had to set the user to Administrator rather than fox so that I did not get a DOS cmd window on the main CRT each time the program executed. As with the Unix world, I had to ensure every command and file reference had a path defined in the program to ensure it ran correctly. We defined some scripts to do daily collection of data for an off platform computer. The data collection always included the date and time for easy verification that the task was running.
