Hi,

it may "help" to read a success story using I/A on Solaris 2.5.1.

Our old Unix stations AW51C with Solaris 2.5.1 working fine.
Independently on that fact was I interested to replace the Foxboro
Business Integration Software foxbis. This piece of software enables the
communication between SAP and I/A series.

Why to replace foxbis?
- no one is able to maintain that piece of software anymore (with one
exception that I know)
- it is not able to use the modern SAP Netweaver XI interface

How to go forward while staying on Solaris 2.5.1 and RBatch and
switching from a SAP RPC connection to SAP Netweaver XI?
-> I wrote some shell scripts which deal with the xml output format of
SAP XI! That is a communication in both directions and it works for 4
months.

What does that mean?
It is not necessary to buy a new Windows PC to be able to communicate
with SAP XI. It is more important to define useful and programmable
interfaces. Now are more colleagues able to maintain the communication
between SAP and I/A and my holidays will not anymore disturbed by
telephone calls from ... (will it?)

Regards,
Andreas
