I admin Exchange from my XP workstation. You install the win2000 admin tools. Install the exchange system manager and ignore the errors/warnings. Then uninstall the 2000 admin pak and install the xp admin pak. I think you can also install the XP admin pak and then the exchange system manager, again ignoreing the errors during install. -----Original Message----- From: David V. If you want to admin from a workstation you need to go back to W2pro or just use Remote Desktop on your XPPro and terminal server into your Exchange Box. -----Original Message----- From: Eric Lanyon [mailto:ELanyon@xxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, November 14, 2002 1:48 PM To: [ExchangeList] Subject: [exchangelist] Exchange Admin http://www.MSExchange.org/ I have a really stupid question. I want to admin my Exchange 2000 server from my desktop. If memory serves, I need to install a portion of Exchange onto my local machine. When I do that, it says I don't have Windows 2000 Admin Tools loaded, but I do. Am I going about it wrong? My PC is WinXP Pro. ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=exchangelist Exchange Newsletters: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/newsletter.asp Exchange FAQ: http://www.msexchange.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ ISA Server Resource Site: http://www.isaserver.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this MSExchange.org Discussion List as: ddellanno@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail message, including any attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information.
