There is a reg hack for 2000 similar to 5.5 . I know there was an article in
the Exchange admin magazine a few months back.

Group,

I need to do some maintenance on the Exchange server. I would like to
complete a backup and then run some test.
The trick is, when I do a backup people are still in their email and I would
like to get them out and keep them out.
IS there a way to prevent users access to the information store until I am
done?

Thanks
