Ilana’s posting hits the nail on the head. English is no longer being
taught nor tested, nor is the present programme advancing the
acquisition of writing or understanding. What it is doing very
successfully is promoting the flight of teachers from the profession,
and overburdening those who stay with an impossible work load.
