I agree! I have spent so many hours not only taping, but then making
copies.. and then to come to school to discover students who didn't bring
/find/have Walkmen... I've had three of my own Walkmen ruined by so much
usage (giving them to students!). In addition, I've actually downloaded the
material onto CDs, an MP3 AND made a regular cassette to accommodate my 7 YB
students!!! (Yes, I did all three ways one time!! I didn't do it again,
believe me!). Enough is enough. I'm ready to fight for our rights!

school counselor has to submit the recommendations for the ministry's
committee (students who need oral testing must apply to the committee)by
Succot. So this week we must test them twice-first in writing and then again
orally-fill out the forms and write our recommendations. Some teachers have
10 students who need to go through this procedure! I don't think we should
this in our own time. The school must find a solution within the teachers'
schedules, even if it means letting other students go home earlier, so the
teacher can test. I know it sounds bad , but what can you do? Why would WE
always have to account for and bear the results of the system's flaws? The
same counts for the tapes. We should demand that teachers who are in charge
of recording tests be released from one of their hours. The actual copying
must be done by the av bait or-in case there are over 50 per shichva at 7
different levels!(like in our school), it should be done by a teacher WHO
GETS AN HOUR (teken!) per week, at least . And yes, this can be achieved. I
also heard some schools give it out to a professional recording studio. That
is much more expensive, so can be done only for big tests. We teachers must
stop thinking of this as our responsibility! We are the ones who can perform
the task, but we are not responsible for supplying the equipment and doing
it in our own time!
