Dear Sarah

The British Council is currently doing workshops on our online virtual
island on Second Life. In the workshops teenagers learn about the United
Kingdom and are introduced to a virtual world that they can sign up for
and meet people from all over the world and practice their English.

Teens from the ages of 13 to 17 can register with a parental consent
form.

If you would like more information then please let me know.

We also have a range of activities to use with different films if you'd
like to show them a film. We have activities for Nanny McPhee,
Stormbreaker, Bend it like Beckham, Wallace and Gromit and Billy Elliot.
I would be happy to send them on to you.

I hope you have a great English day

Nicola Crowley

Subject: english day

Hi to all, We at school would like to have an 'English Day' . Our school
is
a comprehensive one 7th - 12th grade 250 pupils
Does anyone have some ideas how to go about the issue - in the past I
have
seen some postings but unfortunately at the time i did not think it
relevant
so I did not save anything.
If you have some experience or heard about a successful 'day' our staff

would very much appreciate it if u could forward any ideas, notes or
any
related sites.

Thanks SARAH
