Hmm, I think that apps can broadcast a custom main-window title. At
least emel does so for child windows, such as "emelFM2: displaying
file". As for the main window, on Xfce I see various apps broadcasting
custom main-window titles. For example,
- Pidgin's main window displays 'Buddy list',
- Geany displays '<filename> - <path> - Geany'
- gnome-mplayer displays '<filename> - GNOME MPlayer'

Do you think emel's title could also be customised?

User name would generally take only a fraction of the path length.
And, indeed, removing it would make it cumbersome to distinguish
between two emel instances.
