A friend had a similar accident with a fleet of mowers on the freeway. During
rush hour 4 decided to cross the freeway with no warning. He rolled his truck
in the median along with 5 other cars and trucks and several that hit on the
road...

Luckily she hit the sign as that kept her from ending up in a 10' deep
ditch.
The shop is supposed to pick up the car tomorrow or friday and get
started on repairs. They will be going after the other insurance company for
the fees. Will see but most likely will be out the 500 deductable for quite a
while. May end up not going on vacation now. Unfortunately the only way the
police investigate is if there is an injury or a car is towed. So they just
fill out a form trade info and send it into the state. Not sure what the point
of calling the police is if they don't do anything. So in future have the car
towed to have the police do something...

Every accident I've ever been involved in has been non-contact. One time a
lawn mower ended up in the road (it had been mowing in the median), and I
slammed on the brakes, to the suprise of the dumptruck behind me. The
dumptruck wasn't able to stop in time, and swerved to miss me, but ran into a
tree. I hate that it all happened, because I guess it's possible I didn't need
to slam on the brakes, but when a lawn mower ends up in oncoming traffic, I
guess the odds of an accident are high. Glad the guy stopped and talked to the
officer. Best wishes with the claim. Glad no one hurt.

Glad to hear you sold it but is rarely goes how you want it to. I'm about
to list my elky now that it's starting to be nice out.

Tonights fun was Alex crunched the car. Wasn't her fault. A guy pulled
in front of her and she had to slam on the brakes and avoid the truck and ran
into a stop sign. Not too bad. Needs bumper cover headlight fender rim and
tire and any other little brackets. Geri is on the phone with the insurance
company now. The other guy stopped and the officer got his info and a report
filed. The other driver admitted fault many times.

        So will see what happens.....

I sold Clustertruck today, to the owner of a local auto shop. Didn't get much
for it...only $300. But the longer this dragged on, the more I thought about
just donating it rather than dealing with the hassles of selling it. So now I
have extra cash for getting the A/C rebuilt on my '76.

New owner will use the engine in his '72 El Camino. He had a young nephew, who
was the one that actually contacted me and seemed interested in my Sprint. On
Monday I had a bunch of texts with someone else who was interested (I suspect
it may have been the same kid). I can understand the use of "No texts" in a
craigslist ad...I much prefer e-mail.

Alot of lessons learned with the six years I have owned Clustertruck. I bought
it from a co-worker the same week I sold my '72 Nova to a different co-worker.
I had owned the Nova for 17 years and drove that old 4-door beater over 140,000
miles (on top of the 190k it already had on it). I had just bought a house at
the time and wanted a truck, but one that would remind me of my old Nova...and
chose a '73 Sprint. Looking back, Clustertruck didn't quite fit the bill,
since my son was born shortly after I bought it, and I never drove it enough to
have any stories to tell with it. I feel like I already have more stories to
tell from my '76, which I just bought this summer.

But it was fun the few times I used it, and I like being one of the rare fans
of the '73-'77 models! And joining the El Camino list. Thanks everyone!
