Dave, it's a bit of a cheek him doing that as he's certainly something of an arrivist. And he gets other people to scan for him. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Russell" <david.russell8@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

I have never thought of getting it from TNAUK and I use the email service. I will do that right away. I think Gary O'Donahue does a brilliant job. Very poised and in control. Whilst talking of disability, I notice that Peter White has a radio four programme this coming Saturday morning. The series is about inventions which have changed the lives of people, and I believe Peter is discussing the ability to scan and read books.I remember the time, as will Ian, when Peter would not go near an electronic book for love nor money. He stated on In Touch more than once that he couldnever imagine enjoying reading in such a way. I believe that both myselfand Ian have been influencial in changing his mind. Peter is certainly oneof my best customers for my scans. Anyway, the programme should be worth a listen. Shell, the magazine I edit is called Disability Now. Not as depressing as it sounds or as it has been in the past. The next issue has features on Benjamin Cohen, Channel 4's technology correspondent and something on whether Assistance dogs and PAs will or could be replaced by robots. Also an interview by Lara Masters with BBC political correspondent Gary Odonnoghue. It really is a bloody good read and for very little effort if you're a member of TNAUK. You can ask them to send it to you every month. Alternatively, all the content becomes available on the web at the end of each month. Visit disabilitynow.co.uk and check it out. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shell" <shell@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <electrobooks@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 14, 2009 10:26 PM Subject: [electrobooks] Book Lists and Magazines.ian, I'd be lost without my list of books read, i often have to refer to it to see how far along in a series I am, or who wrote what book I liked. But I too get very frustrated when I haven't bothered to keep up to date with it. Sounds like you have had a computer mare this year, what magazine do you edit? Shell. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ian Macrae" <ian.macrae1@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <electrobooks@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 14, 2009 9:50 PM Subject: [electrobooks] Re: What I'm readingDave, I know \I read a Chris Cleve last year but I'm buggered if I can remember what it was. My memory is such that I've now started keeping a list of books as I read them. Of course, the trouble is that I forget tofill it in. And if the book you've just finished scared you then I can'twait to read it as I know you take a lot of scaring. Looking forward to Al's scan of that one.To update listers on my current scanning status, I've been extremely idle since around Christmas. I had two horrendous situations to sort out withthe mag I edit, one commercial, the other to do with personnel. We changed computers and I'm still getting used to Vista and JFW v10 and have yet to discover whether the version of K1000 I've migrated on to here works. So apologies if I'm not as contributive as I might be. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Russell" <david.russell8@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "freelists electrobooks books" <electrobooks@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, April 13, 2009 8:53 AM Subject: [electrobooks] What I'm readingHi Just finished "Afraid" and it was rather scary. I don't often read horrorbooks but this was gripping and thrilling, and rather violent in places.Rather like the books Dean Koontz used to write. Now I have just started "the other hand" by Chris Cleave. I have heard good reports of this one. David-- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG.
