Thanks for your suggestion, Clare, I can see your reasoning but as a
resident of Endcliffe Glen Road for 40 years I'd be very much against
having trees planted on our grass verges. The increased traffic and
inconsiderate drivers are indeed a great nuisance and at times a hazard.
However, our house is light and bright and I would not want trees in front
of my window. Nor would I want tree roots growing under my house. I'm not
keen on all the unsightly rocks and bricks on the grass verges but I'd
prefer them to trees. I just can't bear the thought of any loss of natural
light.

There is an issue with cars taking short cuts down this road, causing
blockages that result in cars annoyingly driving onto the grass verges. In
several places people have put rocks, sticks and piles of wood. If trees
were planted one of the many benefits could be stopping people driving on
the verge.
Any thoughts?
