Traffic calming would be wonderful but, when the existing parking bays were put
in we did talk at length with the Council about traffic calming and there were
some guidelines about the number of accidents on the road in the preceding
period. What they basically said was, that because nobody had ever been
reported as hurt due to an accident on the road, we would not be a priority for
traffic calming! I think Claire Draffin might know more/remember more clearly.

I am not a resident on Endcliiffe, though I can understand the views expressed
about light. I like Tracey’s suggestion of stone planters.
Also, I wonder, if not already done, whether an approach could be made to the
Council about some traffic calming measures.

I have to say, as Moira’s neighbour, I am in complete agreement with her.
Furthermore, witnessing the inconsiderate driving on our Road on a daily basis,
I think trees would only make things more hazardous (particularly for children
crossing the road) as they would further obscure the view.
I love trees and we are fortunate enough to have some wonderful mature
specimens at the back of our houses.
Maybe we could invest in some lovely stone (heavy) planting troughs for the
verges instead? These could be filled with low maintenance succulents or
colorful bedding.

There is an issue with cars taking short cuts down this road, causing blockages
that result in cars annoyingly driving onto the grass verges. In several places
people have put rocks, sticks and piles of wood. If trees were planted one of
the many benefits could be stopping people driving on the verge.
Any thoughts?
