I just rang to get my renewal date, my permit number, advised to apply one
month ahead and advised to ensure the start date of renewal application is
for the day after expiry date (or they think you want an additional
permit). They can't tell me if I will get a reminder or why a reminder is
generated or not. However, the lady was actually charming. I was advised to
use the diary in my phone so I don't forget.
I did say everyone else (such as insurance company) sends reminders when
they want my money but apparently that may be because they have competition!
Oh well. Previous efforts to get the council to provide a consistent
service have failed. Perhaps reminders will start coming through now the
council have found that the felling of trees is an even better way of
annoying us all!

Same happened to me. I appealed but lost. There is a total lack of care. I
really think there is no sense that the council serves us. They are
capricious regarding whether or not to send reminders and now we don't even
have a permit to look at.

I used a visitor's permit while waiting 36 hours, just in case.
Friends told me to contest it because it was my car parked outside my
house on my road. I didn't though.
I'm pretty fed up with the parking permit saga in this area though.

I found payment online straightforward. However as I was doing this on

I had a trying time renewing this time. I did it online but didn't use the
green permit renewal button. I didn't recognise the term green permit.
Payment wasn't taken so I rang to find out what I'd done wrong. (Not used
the green permit button). I was passed from one person to another until the
line went dead. Then went back online used the other renewal button and
everything went through fine.
I've just applied for visitor permits. You have to put in your residents
permit number they check it and get back to you for payment I think. At
least that's what I'm waiting for according to an email.
