I've just renewed my parking permit, in the nick of time as they didn't send
out any reminder!
I found payment online straightforward. However as I was doing this on expiry
day I was left unsure when the new one would be live, as they said it would be
in 36 hours from payment but gave no specific date. So as it was over the
weekend I felt had to use my visitors permits (Sat and Mon), just in case....
I rang the council yesterday who confirmed the renewal had gone through but
also that reminders cannot be relied upon now as that they are not always sent
out.

I had a trying time renewing this time. I did it online but didn't use the
green permit renewal button. I didn't recognise the term green permit.
Payment wasn't taken so I rang to find out what I'd done wrong. (Not used
the green permit button). I was passed from one person to another until the
line went dead. Then went back online used the other renewal button and
everything went through fine.
I've just applied for visitor permits. You have to put in your residents
permit number they check it and get back to you for payment I think. At least
that's what I'm waiting for according to an email.
