Okey, looks like something else than EazyCNC is using that port.
Is it possible that you have an other instance of EazyCNC running,
maybe you have tried things multiple times and one instance is
running in the background?
You could try to restart your PC.
You can also use the 'ps' or 'ps -A' command to see what processes
are running.
Also you could try the 'lsof' command to see who has opened the file/device.

But the message back so reconnect the cable, use the 'mach' button, then f12:

This appears continuously (text lines are incremented with this message).

This is an indication that the TOAD4 firmware
is running but not communicating
with
EazyCNC. When you click the MACH button the LED should blink
at about 50 Hz - 100 Hz,
depending on
EazyCNC communication settings. Of course you cannot really
see
that fast blinking but the LED should
glow somewhat dimly.
You
can also try to press the F12 key to bring up the EazyCNC
Java console so that
you can see if there
are error messages.
