I ran into this behavior recently.
Solution in my case was to decrease the displayed font size (Global Menu,
Fonts). The Tiger family of embossers want a point size of at least 29, but
Jaws can't seem to track text very well at that setting.
Just my experience. Not sure if it holds water more generally.
