That's right about format conversion - thanks Scott.  My question is
really what sources have provided a good combination of high quality
sounds and reasonable licensing? =20

Of course, you can convert many other formats to DLS without too much
trouble using tools like AWave. Just keep in mind that not all formats
have analogous settings, so you might have to do some hand-massaging.

Sonic Implants (http://www.sonicimplants.com) did some of the DLS sounds
for the demos that shipped with DMP in DirectX 8.
