I'll be paying very close attention to the answers to this question. I've also wondered the same thing.

I know we've discussed this before. However, I have a ton of projects where
I've frozen soft synths into tracks that eventually got rendered as mp3s.
Assuming I unfreeze all those soft synths, how can I get rid of all the
audio tracks that the freeze command initially created? I'm pretty sure
that the presence of frozen and thawed wave files is needlessly chewing up
hard disk space that I would like back.
Thanks for any answers,
Kevin

when you freeze a track or synth a wave file will be bounced with all
effects and eq applied.
automatically the eq will be disabled. because your eq is already bounced on

the wave file if you enable the eq it will work but it will be adding the
same eq you already have on your bounced wave file. the idea of freezing is
that you can go back and change anything exactly as it was before the
freezing.
i recommend not using the eq while it is frozen only if you don't want to go

back at all. then the best thing to do is a bounce to track where you will
have a new track without any eq or effects inserted .

Thanks Luis,

I have noticed, though, that the sound on the track does indeed change
when I change the EQ while the track is frozen. Sorry if I'm not
understanding what you're saying about enabling the eq while the track is
frozen, etc.

hi Omar:
the idea tfor using the freeze feature is that you can go back and
unfreeze it and the track will come alive just as it was before.
when you freeze a track or a synth the eq is disabled. if you enable it
again you will be putting eq over an already equalized track . then
when you unfreeze you will only have the realtime eq instead of the one
already bounced to the track.
what i do is to unfreeze first and then make changes and then freeze
again so i can keep the freezing option as what it is supposed to do.
if you are sure you don't want to go back you can bounce to track and
erase your frozen track.

Hi Gord,

What i am saying though is, if I make the eq changes while the track
is
frozen, will that work? It sounds like its changing, and I am doing it
while it's frozen. Is that okay?

 Omar:
If you are making the eq changes on the audio track that is
associated
with the soft synth, they will still be in effect when you unfreeze it.

   Hello,

If I change some eq parameters on a soft synth track that has
already
been frozen, do I need to unfreeze that track in order for those changes
to take place when I export, or can the track stay frozen while i make
the eq changes?

   Thanks.
