I also get random audio dropouts on my system, which is a quad-core, xp home, 
and 4 gigs of ram. DJX, I didn't see any of the steps you mentioned. Could you 
possibly repost them? I don't see them in the replies below.

  No, not really, not unless you are using more than 3gb of ram and want to 
enable the switch for xp to see all 3 of them or something along those lines... 
It doesn't make a difference though as most programs won't be able to 
successfully use all that memory on xp/32 bit system anyways...

  Did you try the steps I suggested? If you are still having problems perhaps 
we can do a skype session to see if I can help in anyway...

  I had a friend come around to see if he could help out with the audio drop 
outs/ system performance with Sonar issues.  He noticed something I hadn't 
noticed or thought of before.  It turns out I'm using XP Home edition as 
opposed to professional edition.  Would this matter?
