Phil, it's tricky these days getting the better venues, it's nothing to do

Phil replied: totally agree with you on that.

Phil replied: I actually know of a pub near hear that aren't taking bands
any more. That's all being done through an agency. Times must be tough if
you are an agency and you are having to take on pub work.

perform at their Norton Grange Hotel, it's crazy.

Phil replied: that's great though.

Phil replied: with you there. Even with the pubs, you have to go in bold as
brass.

Regarding Garritan Strings V Dimension Pro Strings, I looked at a song this
morning, I finished it, Darren now has it, however, to be fare, it doesn't
quite have the realism of Garritan. Darren may put it up later, unless he
for quality control decides not too lol

Steve. Aah, if only I had the time, smile. Have been busy going out in the
car all over here, chasing pub gigs as no weddings, parties etc have come
our way yet. Trying to get more finance in so that I can purchase some bass
bins and lights. Not a bad idea though! Still life is good and we don't
seem to have any problems getting the pubb gigs. Every time we show them
the video footage, they are sold. Still weddings and parties would be
better as pubs will only pay out £150.00 tops around here. Can't complain
though as have made enough to purchase a new power amp which is 8 kelos
lighter than the last one and some speaker stands which ar way easier to
set-up than the 14 year old ones that I was using. Now, I I could just keep
Luke away from this laptop then, I wouldn't have keys broken off etc.

Phil wrote, "Will respectfully agree to disagree. If you want good
orchestral sounds the Garritan Personal Orchestra is fantastic! Way better
than Dimension Pro."
Steve replied, "That's not very respectful to Dimension Pro lol"
Phil wrote, "The strings on Dimension Pro are good but the Garritan ones are
in a different league again. I purchased it just for the strings but, if I
were into orchestral stuff, I would purchase it for that as nothing else
comes close. I don't use orchestral stuff much here however, I will be
using the strings on some of my backing tracks in the future. In fact, I
may even revoice some of the tracks that I have with the Garritan strings.
Also, playing them is a dream. They just respond as you would expect."
Steve Replied, "Phil, I think we should put Dimension Pro and Garritan to
the test. we both know how to arrange and right all kinds of music so we are
not going personally head to head. Lets simply choose a classic song of our
own choice so everyone on the forum can recognise the song, it will be
interesting to see which Strings the forum prefer.
I think we should use one or two other instruments (no drums though) just
instruments to give the song some colour, a verse and chorus will do.
What do you think?
