Is it my imagination, or is Cakewalk not doing so hot on their sales of X1? It looks like Cakewalk is pretty desperate to push X1 (e.g. recent offer “For a limited time, every customer with a previously registered Cakewalk product can upgrade to SONAR X1 Studio for $99” Apparently Cakewalk’s strategy to enhance Sonar’s workflow processes was not a sufficient incentive to catch the attention of their current consumers and upgrade to X1. It also looks like the general DAW market is very competitive and I don’t know how Cakewalk will do against its competitors. It will be also interesting how all the shuffling in the DAW markets will affect the accessibility of blind folks to DAWS in the future; it could be good; it could be bad.
