Hi,
Jeremy - good point - although I like 'text' editors that can load
binary files and modify them.
Reflecting on Jim's idea, zips are somewhat resilient, if you add a
handful of bytes you may find the contents are still visible and can be
unpacked.
Better to have a command line tool and set it up to be easy to use. On
Windows there's the 'send to' facility and some operating systems will
let you drag and drop a file on to a desktop icon to pass the file as a
parameter to the program associated with the icon.
Does RISC OS have a similar short cut.
