How can I stop the automatic display of the Styles window, both on

Are you referring to using the applet !StylePal? Here that puts an
icon in the main OPro iconbar - a 'palette' with an S on it. Clicking
on this toggles the Style palette visible or not. There is also the
menu option Applets-Style palette. This also toggles the
opening/closing of the style window. There is also a button? macro
(probably near the bottom of the list of macros) called stylepal.
If you are referring to the main 'Edit style' dialogue, accessed from
the main window menu option Style-Edit style, then I have no idea why
that should automatically open when loading a document.
