I see that the US Homeland Department has finally got round to realising
that Kaspersky, a Russian based firm which specialises in anti-virus
software and other security products, and banned them from all US
government computers, because they may be providing a back door into
those computers on behalf of the Russian Security Services.
Let us hope that the replacement software only has back doors leading
into the US security services...and that the US security services
haven't been infiltrated by the Russian Security Services. I dare say
that we will now see that the Russian Government will now ban US
security software from their government computers...if they haven't
already done so.
However, where does that leave the rest of us...the citizens of the
world, and GCHQ and our security services of course. Are we to stop
using Kaspersky too, and US based security software, so that we can make
doubly sure that US and our security isn't compromised? Roll on the new
digital technology and all the benefits it gives to the world...pity
about the disbenefits, but there you are, nuffinks perfect. We really
do need those back doors, else we would never find out what is going
on...:-).
ATB,
Dougie.
P.S. What are they going to do about Chinese software and hardware...one
wonders?
