Noobs shouldn’t be in tournaments. If they are, they should shut up and learn.

Sap is right. Don’t be an asshole. Basic courtesy and general rules of
sportsmanship apply. That doesn’t extend to actual gameplay.

He’s talking about limiting the options in a fighting game to dumb it down so
that people who can’t play the game don’t see their ass against people who’ve
put the effort in. That’s wrong.

Bro, could you please copy and paste his response here? I'd like to read it.

I'll chat to him as well. Bad sportsmanship my ass. It would be bad
sportsmanship if I got up and verbally ridiculed you in front of everyone, or
refused to shake
your hand afterwards, etc. Beating you into the ground in a fighting game is
something that is to be expected. What are we supposed to do? Just hang back
and let the other guy do whatever he wants? His understanding of 'playing
normally' is not the
same as ours. Hopefully, he'll see reason.

Got a really long reply from ZombieDredd. He says that our group played zoners
(Deathstroke) and just used a single move from the
other side of the screen. He says that this isn’t good sportsmanship. Also
says that we don’t take Injustice seriously as a fighting game. Then other
random stuff. He has some valid (or at least true) points, but they shouldn’t
affect the rule set.

I’m sending him long replies detailing why it isn’t bad sportsmanship and
trying to explain why we need to use the same rules as
 Tekken or SF4.

Mainly he’s happy that we just play normally – not worry about spamming single
moves more than twice. He just doesn’t want people
to do the same Deathstroke type thing as before. While that is a step forward,
it’s still missing the overall point.

When is this?
I’m sure my console will be good to go. Got both Tekken and Injustice, so
whatever. Don’t have all the DLC characters for Injustice,
but I don’t think it will matter to scrubs.

I agree with casual play setups. I'm not a big fan of tournies at events like
these for the same reasons you mentioned - they are too hard to run efficiently.

I don't think casual players will like how Injustice zoning battles play out
either. Just let the casuals scrub out and have their fun.

Please advise on the games you will be playing at UCON on the different days,

Now, if last Friday's 'free-to-play' event is anything to go by, if there are
too many distractions, it becomes considerably more difficult to run a
tournament,
so I've opted in favour of having consoles set up for casual play on the day.
Please indicate if you guys agree or disagree. I need to know who would be able
to assist with consoles and screens. Aamina has indicated that she wants
Injustice and Tekken to be
featured. We can decide on the rest.

But really I dont see what has made everyone rate the game so high

when it has done nothing drastically better than metal gear solid 2.

even the character types are just old and generic.
